Activist training and fundraising party for Prop 2 Friday

Hey everyone,

I cannot believe it's just 2 weeks until Election Day. Literally thousands of people have been volunteering their time to get Proposition 2 passed for more than a year now! The potential for a massive shift in the way hundreds of millions or even billions of animals raised for food are treated in this country is enormous. If Prop 2 passes, it will send a LOUD message to the rest of the country and to agribusiness that we cannot continue raising animals without regard for how they are treated. If Prop 2 fails, huge momentum will be lost and it will send a message that it's ok to keep raising animals as we are.

NOW IS THE TIME TO GET THIS PASSED! And these last two weeks before the election are critical to passing Prop 2.

Come get trained in two of the most important ways you can help: leafleting and letterwriting. Nora Kramer, one of the two Bay Area coordinators for the signature-gathering phase of the campaign, and an experienced letter-writer and leafleter, will be leading this.

You'll also meet other volunteers you can go out leafleting with. Then take part in our silent auction fundraising party! If you have items you can bring for a raffle or silent auction, bring them! (Don't buy anything; bring only items you feel condifent people would bid on.) Also feel free to bring snacks or goodies to share or even sell to raise money for the campaign. (A similar fundraiser this past weekend raised over $1500!)

Approximate schedule7 - 8: Meet people, eat snacks 8 - 9: Letters to the editor training9 - 9:30: Leafleting training and practice9:30 - 11: Silent auction, drinks, fun! NOW IS THE TIME TO DO EVERY LAST THING WE CAN TO PASS PROP 2! Get this simple but important training if you do not feel confident in these areas, and then put them to use these last 2 weeks!

Location: 123 Beaver St., between 15th and 16th, in SF. Note that the house is in a bit from the road and behind some trees, so you just need to look for it a little bit from the street.
