Guest guest
Hi folks It has been a tradition with Bay Area Vegetarians to ask for volunteers to organize a community Thanksgiving get-together in their local area so we can celebrate Thanksgiving vegan style in cities across the Bay Area. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to meet folks in your area AND to give something back to your local veg community. It can be Vegan Food Party (with or without a Thanksgiving theme), or maybe something more casual, like a vegan dinner at your favorite restaurant. Or maybe it's not called Thanksgiving but Turkey Liberation Day. If anyone is interested in hosting, please email me with your ideas (date/time, restaurant dinner or VFP, etc). Remember, BAVeg has no paid staff -- everything is done entirely by volunteers, like YOU and me. It is only with the support of volunteers that we can continue to promote and support veg*nism in the SF Bay Area. These events can be large or small, on Thanksgiving day, or the weekend before, at a time/date of your choosing/convenience (after all, you're organizing!). It can be at your favorite restaurant, or Vegan Food Party style (i.e. a potluck and everyone contributes). It's entirely up to you! Note -- at this time, please only write me if you are interested in hosting an event. If you would like to attend an event, please check the event calendar for updates and hopefully there will be one in your area. If not, please think seriously about whether you could host something. Cheers, Tammy But for the sake of some little mouthful of flesh we deprive a soul of the sun and light, and of that proportion of life and time it had been born into the world to enjoy. - Plutarch Bay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
Guest guest
Just an update that we currently have 3 events scheduled - SF, coastside, South Bay. Thank you Kim & Jamie, Ann & Reeba, Collin & Sharon! A good testimonial is that everyone who is hosting also hosted last year .. Kim & her husband Jamie have organized one every year since we started doing this! Here's a video of their party last year If anyone else is interested in organizing any additional events, could you please see my email below? Would like to have the details up on the calendar by 11/1 for the Nov e-newsletter.
