How long can cooked grains keep?

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I can't find any

information about this. How long will cooked whole grains keep in the

refrigerator? Specifically quinoa, brown rice, and cracked wheat.

I make several servings at once, but sometimes I throw out unfinished

portions because I don't know if they're still edible.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Neal

Hi, Neal.I wouldn't keep cooked grains for more than 3 or 4 days. Don't wait until they go sour to throw them out. The nose test isn't always reliable. Also, make sure you are keeping your fridge at 40 degrees or below.Happiness & health,TonyaSee how Windows connects the people, information, and fun that are part of your life. See Now

Specifically quinoa, brown rice, and cracked wheat. What I typically do is make a big batch of brown rice, and then I freeze it in various portion sizes to eat later. The reheated brown rice tastes comparable to freshly cooked rice. I also use the brown rice as a staple in lunch, since it can be expensive and/or difficult to find vegan lunch every day at work.
