Guest guest
http://www.lovinghut.us/sanfrancisco/ Loving Hut just had a Grand Opening Sat, in Palo Alto. Their Milipitas restaurant opened a month ago... wow... NEXT Sat, 10/11, LovinG hut will have a Grand opening SF CHinatown-STockton street/cross ST Vallejo. 2 blocks from the Police Station parking lot and where my friend Leon lives (anybody need inexpensive computer PC work?) The parking lot is reasonably priced, but I wouldn't count on having available space at times... (generally it's a good thing to have the parking lot) (on weekends, maybe the dim sum crowd will leave in the afternoons-I'll make a report) The restaurant will have Lion DAncing at 11am on Sat's Grand Opening. I think it's mostly fire crackers to ward out the evil spirits... There's a few specials, but the discount is not that great. === location is ~6 blocks from Lucky Creation Veg REstaurant. people promoting the restaurants are volunteers (religious members) NOT the restaurant workers (the ones I bumped into) == finding new veg restaurant is like a hide and seek/scavenger hunt game to me. I like to be the first to report a new restaurant. I don't go hunting for restaurants, the info just comes to me. === Overall, I wish all of veggie restaurants will stay in business. So if you want to open a restaurant pls work in one at least 10 years. If you are rich... you might be able to hire consulants to give you the tips. If you are doing it right, you get an experienced "restaurant" accountant to calculate how much you need to make per day to stay in business. If you don't have enough seats and don't have enough take outs... you are doomed! I went to dinner at the former FEEL REAL restaurant in Cold Sunset district with a high level CFO. He calculated to me, that there's not way with 12 seats they will stay in business. Another lady told me, homeless people will take $ out of their tips jars all the time. Very sad to hear... I argued with the veggie lady that they don't have enough $ to stay in business,,,,She disagree and said they were doing well. Why argue with me, when the restaurant is already closed. Subject closed, very sad indeed for everyone. == Rumor has it the new Cafe Gratitude in SF will open an organic taco and burrito places (I assume there's more cooked food) ....most info soon for other folks.. I think it will be a good fit. By the way 80% of the food prep folks are Hispanics. == new location is near Weird Fish and Yamo ($6 Burmese restaurant that just left the Yamo name intact) PLENTY of meter parking during the day. NIght time, might be a little harder. winnie
