Dispatches from the blogosphere -- Yesterday, as a follow-up to my recent entry on Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin, I posted an analysis of Barack Obama's record on animals and the environment, which represents part 1 of a 2 part series in which I will also examine John McCain's record and positions on these issues.

I am gravely concerned that the outcome of this particular election will have profound implications for the animal protection movement (as well as the country and the world) for better or for worse, so please learn as much as you can about the candidates over the next 6 weeks, and carefully consider which one you'll support this November.

Mat Thomaswww.animalrighter.org "…guys like you are in

what we call the 'reality-based community.' ... But that's not the way the

world really works now. We're an empire of sorts, and when we act, we create

our own reality. ... We're history's actors, who are willing to do what's

needed, and you can study what we do. "
