Guest guest
I just saw a piece on the news regarding Prop 2 and they made it sound like a financial disaster for California. They emphasized pretty much all the negatives and interviewed people that could care less about the well-being of the animals. I was very disappointed, but not too terribly surprised. They listed many things that will be negatively impacted including a very high number of jobs lost and a huge dollar amount of what it will cost the industry and how those costs will be passed onto the consumer. It seemed exaggerated. I'm curious to know how accurate they were. I went on-line to check out cbs5.com, but couldn't find the specific numbers that they used. I'd sure like to know who provided those numbers to them. I'm guessing there is a good chance that they are coming from biased sources. If anybody can shed light on this subject, please share away. Anyway, it just reminds me that I need to get out there and take as much action as possible and as soon as possible. Thanks to all that have so far.P.S. On a positive note: I was recently visiting Michigan and I ran across a publication called Metrotimes. On the front cover they showed a cow with a gas mask and the title was, "Got Methane? Cows, carnivores and global warming" written by Jim Motavalli. I was impressed to find it at a pub in the middle of Pontiac, Michigan, a very industrial part of the world. What was very cool was that our friend, Joe Connelly, editor of VegNews, was quoted in it. Good job Joe and Colleen for a fabulous magazine and thank you Tammy and Chris for this wonderful site. Clearly the word is getting out and you are a HUGE contributor. Thanks for your vision and HARD work.Syndee Collison, CPT, CNC1on1 Personal Health Solutions222.syndee1on1.comOn Sep 12, 2008, at 3:12 PM, wrote:Bay Area Vegetarians www.BayAreaVeg.orgMessages In This Digest (1 Message)1.Ice Cream Parlor in San Carlos carries Maggie Mudd! Right now they have Creamsicle, Irish Coffee, Mint Cookie Swirl and what they call "peanut butter cup,"--what I believe is actually Tarmack. The ice cream was, of course, delicious and was even served in compostable bowls with compostable spoons. Please support this business so they'll keep having Maggie Mudd at the store. My kids will thank you!! Let's hope that more "mainstream" stores start carrying similar vegan options!Cowabunga Creamery is located at 784 Laurel Street in San Carlos. Happy animal-friendly eating!Tami WallBack to topReply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (1)RECENT ACTIVITY10New MembersVisit Your GroupSpecial K Groupon Join the challengeand lose weight.Biz ResourcesY!
