Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just wanted to give a quick update ankd thank you: leafleting at Power to the Peaceful was a huge success! We distributed more than 7 boxes of Vegan Outreach brochures (which have 300 each), 5 boxes of Even If You Like Meat and 2 boxes of Try Vegetarian, which people were especially receptive to. It was a great team effort. It took me forever to get parking after dropping the materials off, but we already had people leafleting while I was driving around, and as soon as I started leafleting people started calling me to meet up and help. All in all, we had me, Anjee, Rachelle Ruiz, Donna Ashizawa, Pat, , Nadine May, Christine Garcia, Beth, and Christine and Beth's friend I'm estimating here: Rachelle Ruiz gave out about 150 EIYLM Anjee gave out about 150 EIYLM and a bunch of Prop 2 info Donna gave out about 150 EIYLM and a bunch of Prop 2 info and Pat each gave out about 200 EIYLMs and Try Vegetarians. They had never leafleted before and did great!! Nadine gave out about 200 EIYLMs and Try Vegetarians and a bunch of Prop 2 info I gave out about 1000 EIYLMs and Try Vegetarians Christine, Beth, and their friend gave out remaining literature after we had packed up and prepared to leave. (The concert was over and the major exit was over, but they leafleted people still hanging out.) Not sure how much they gave out, but it was a mix of Why Vegans, " If you care about this planet " envi flyers, and PETA veg starter guides. Tammy deserves credit for all of it for publicizing it! This was a very receptive audience. Our line was, " Take a stand for peace everyday! " , which worked great. Everyone reported having a great experience. We had a number of people thnak us, and lots of people tell us they're already vegan. One person got an EIYLM and said to his friend, " Oh, look, this is that flyer I got a while back that made me want to be a vegetarian! " (Not sure if that " want " meant that he actually went veg, but still....) Thanks, everyone! Guest guest
Separately, I also handed out a few hundred veg leaflets and the SF Vegetarian Society had a booth where they were handing stuff out too, including PCRM's Veg Starter Kit. I'm looking forward to seeing folks at the World Veg Fest on 4-5 Oct in GG Park (www.sfvs.org/wvd). Peace, Dan
Guest guest
Wow, that's totally awesome. Really great to see over 5000 people received veg info! Thanks for leading this Nora and to everyone who helped leaflet. Just a reminder that while special events like Power to the Peaceful are especially good for outreach, we can 'make' our own leafleting events anytime we want simply by carrying leaflets with us.
