Guest guest
Yes, I did the ride as well. I chose the century this year, and was quite glad that the temperature cooperated nicely (it was a bit rainy in the early morning, so the roads were slick, but it dried up in a couple of hours, and stayed relatively cool). All the farms on the route were fabulous, and the selections of fruits and vegetables varied nicely--most were harvested by the farmers themselves just hours before the event. I don't usually bite into raw corn, but was surprised by how good it can be, at least the variety that was offered at one of the stops. The lunch and dinner were definitely an improvement over prior years, IMO, so kudos to the chefs and volunteers. Since I was more prepared physically this year, I was able to enjoy more of the scenic wine country, especially thru the latter half. Overall, it was an awesome 97-mile, 10-hour opportunity to advertise " Go Vegan " on my own Organic Athlete " bumper " Erhhung John Monday, August 18, 2008 12:56 PM Tour d'Organics Ride Hello all, Just wondering if anyone else participated in any of the rides this past Sunday in Sebastopol. I did the 35 mile ride, very relaxing and pretty easy I thought. The weather was perfect, a little overcast to keep the temps down but nice and sunny for the afternoon. Delicious fruits and snacks at the rest stops along the way and an awesome vegan lunch back at the community center.
