Usual Suspects Cafe & Humane Mouse Trap...

Sorry for the delay in posting this, but on Friday August 1st, I went

by the Usual Suspects Cafe because I heard that it was now closed for

business.

I was surprised when I got there that it had an " Open " sign in the

window. Oddly all the lights were off and there was no sign of

business but the owner was sitting in the lobby, so I opened the door

and had a little chat with him.

 

He said that the restaurant part is closed for now. He is searching

for two new chefs, or as a recent previous post wrote, is offering to

rent out the kitchen / restaurant part of the establishment if

someone else wants to run it.

The reason for the open sign was that he was still keeping the

upstairs open for open mic comedy nights. But was having problems

with that as well.

So I guess for now ( as of August 1st ) there is no more Russian

Vegan Cusine, I did not get the full story as to why he stopped the

Russian Vegan Cusine. He mentioned that there was a misunderstanding

and some heavy criticism because honey was in one dish that claimed

to be vegan and he did not know that honey was not considered vegan.

 

Humane Mouse Trap.

 

A few weeks ago I noticed that some seeds I left on my kitchen table

were eaten when I awoke ( live alone or so I thought). I figured it

was a mouse coming in out of the heat. Then this past weekend I

awoke two days in a row to tiny mouse droppings. So I went to the

OSH Hardware Store in Moraga and found these inexpensive Humane Mouse

Traps put out by a company called Victor. It was two for $3.99. You

put the bait in the back of the little trap ( I was recommended

peanut butter ) then when the mouse goes to the back of the trap to

eat the food it rocks the trap back closing the door. Then you

simply take the trap outside open the door and let the mouse scurry

away. So hopefully you can find one of these at your local hardware

store.
