[baarn] Reminder: Please help protest Gay Rodeo 8/2, 8/9

Good for you, Andrew, for taking this on. But no, it's defiinitely NOT

the first time the Gay Rodeo has been protested. Check the history.

Early on (early 90's?) we had a demo/picket line at their S.F. site when

Senator Carole Migden was the Gay Rodeo's Grand Marshal. (She won't be

doing THAT again--she caught all kinds of flak from animal people and

feminists alike, including Alice Walker.) Another time, TWO of us

showed up for a demo when the Gay Rodeo was at the Hayward Rowell

Ranch. We had a 10-foot banner from the Gay Day Parade, saying " Gays

and Friends for Animal Rights, " which we carried for 17 years in that

Parade. Managed to stand in front of the banner so it read, " Gay and

Friend for Animal Rights " - You gotta be creative in this sorry business.

 

Good luck with this latest campaign. Think about marching with a group

in next year's Gay Day Parade, why don't you?
