A closed KFC or any fast food was NEVER heard of before,

It makes since these BAD food will eventually go out of business

The closed KFC is now a vacant restaurant on

Webster and Buena Vista in Alameda CA

To help the community and the restaurant, I had recommended a chef at

8am TODAY to look into Usual Suspect. AT 9am, He said it MUST be bad

if not ONE but TWO chef

left like that. He was a manager before, and he treated his workers

well, nothing like this ever happened to him.

It takes guts to just quit like that especially if most people go by

paycheck to paycheck. REstaurant pay is low with LOTS of hard work,

standing all day long, with NO weekends off..!!

It's good to know a bit of the background of the restaurant or ANY

company before recommending someone working for Usual Suspect or ANY

restaurant.

The only thing I noticed at Usual Suspect, is they have TWO CHEFS, TWO

Waitress and ONE dish washer that basically don't have anything to do

cause it's a new restaurant.

Why not hire ONE CHEF and ONE waitress.. for the time being.... They

can also be backups to do other things like washing dishes.

..... work like an efficient mom and pop restaurant. then a few months

later, start hiring another staff member until business builds UP

When they get big groups of 50 people coming in.... they can hire temp

staff members, like a dishwasher.

==

WHen Medicine first opened, the had the highest overhead I " ve ever

seen.... that included staff members.

The food was good, but not enough to pay the bills! NOw, they are

downsizing in size, and staff etc..

I'm not in the food industry, but. I know enough not to work in the

industry. I get good food and service at a restaurant, I tip them well

for their great work.

I'm thinking that KFC has been there for at least twenty years. Am

I wrong?

It seems unlikely that such a restaurant would go out of business

after so long simply because it makes poor quality food and stinks

up the neighborhood. I would, however, look to economic conditions

as a cause for many businesses to be going under for a while.

And unfortunately, I think veg restaurants may have a more difficult time

than others because their base of support is smaller. As a generalization,

sometimes veg restaurants open and they don't have a solid business plan,

which leads to difficulties for them. I know a couple of folks who have

owned/operated vegan restaurants and when I ask them if they miss it, it's

always an emphatic no.

While I enjoy eating out at veg restaurants, and have probably organized

more social dinners at veg restaurants than 90% of the folks on this list, I

don't consider them 'charities' requiring my support in the same way that

non-profit and charitable organizations do. I will also avoid eating at veg

restaurants that I don't trust (which so far has been due to

misrepresentation about which foods on the menu are vegan).

So, in these current economic conditions, I would encourage folks that

whenever you have a choice, please patronize restaurants that are entirely

vegetarian or vegan as they are putting their convictions and beliefs along

with their $$ in choosing to not profit from selling meat at their

restaurant.

Cheers,

Tammy

Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one. "
