Guest guest
Hi everyone, I would like to speak to anyone who has had experience with any of these holistic vets in the South Bay (preferably anyone who has worked with them for cancer in a cat): Sara Skiwski, DVM Deborah Mathis, DVM Walt McCall, DVM Or if anyone can share any general experiences with holistic treatments for cancer in a cat, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you so much, Melissa
Guest guest
Hi Mellissa and everyone, My dog was diagnosed with cancer last week. A friend of a friend told me about a product called Flor-essence ( Essiac Tea). It seems that her dog was diagnosed and given 1 month to live, since the cancer had spread to the lungs. She started adding the Floressence to the dog's food and the tumor shrank and went away and the dog lived for 3 more years. She doen't know what else to attribute it to. It's worth looking into. Guest guest
Dear Nettie and others, First, Nettie, I am so very sorry about your dog. I am working long-distance with an excellent holistic veterinarian in So. CA and my local vet . This vet, Dr. Alice Villalobos, does nothing but oncology and is highly regarded by even mainstream veterinary oncologists. Anyway, I mention this because I asked her about Essiac Tea for my cat Cody's lymphosarcoma. She said she would not recommend it because the research shows it doesn't work. And this is from a doctor who, as I say, is an expert in veterinary oncology. If expenses don't preclude it, I would consult with a holistic veterinarian before giving your sick cat, dog, or any companion animal any remedies. I know there are some good holistic vets, especialy in S.F., but Cody used to travel poorly (just found Quiet Moments spray which is helping a lot with vet trips) The travel problems are why I am consulted Dr. Villalobos (which I don't regret- she is as kind as she is excellent). All the best to all of you who have sick companion animals- Stephanie
