Guest guest
Sure, we all we wish for more people to go veg. (Hey, I have been wishing for many years for the winning lotto numbers, too.) But there comes a time when we have to take matters into our own hands -- and that's where booklets like "Why Vegan?" or a "Vegetarian Starter Kit" with vegan recipes comes in handy. Leafleting is compassion in action - giving someone the information and opportunity they need to save lives. Since 2003, BAVeg has participated in the SF Pride celebration. Please join us this approaching weekend as we hand out information promoting eating beans, not beings. Whereas in earlier years We are focusing all of our efforts on leafleting this year. Please sign-up for a shift to help. Easy location - Civic Center BART or Muni. Check out the full story & photos from last year http://www.bayareaveg.org/blog/2007/07/01/veg-pride-baveg-at-sf-lgbt-pride-2007 Here's what our leafleting volunteers say: “I love zipping through a line of people seated on the curb, every one of them holding their hands up for a Vegetarian Starter Kit. But even better is walking back down that line a few minutes later and watching people reading about animal cruelty and cruelty-free veg eating. What a great feeling of accomplishment.” “Giving people the information they need to change their lives is so empowering. It feels great to make a difference. It’s especially wonderful when people who originally declined change their minds and turn around and ask us for one.” “One person asked if this was about eating vegetarian to reduce cruelty to animals. I said “yes” and he said “I can do that, thanks for the information” "This is great! I feel like I really accomplished something!" (first-time leafleter) "I could never make this much of a difference in my entire life by just changing my diet.” Thank you for your help to the make the Bay Area, and beyond, a more veg-friendly world.
