Guest guest
Hi folks Whenever I get fundraising appeals or solicitiations for help for charities, especially if it's a charity related to disease, I check the Humane Charity Seal website to see if the organization uses animals in their research. http://www.humaneseal.org : The Humane Charity Seal of Approval is the easiest way for donors to spot charities that are committed to providing vital services and care to patients or advancing research without the use of animals. If you get an appeal from a charity and they are still animal testing, you might want to ask if they are still animal testing, and let them know your support depends on their answer. The humaneseal.org website is run by Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine (pcrm.org). I've found it a helpful resource over the years ..even if you don't need it now, please bookmark it for your future use. It's also linked on the pcrm.org main page, and we've got it listed on the BAVeg resources page, too. Cheers, Tammy "Isn't man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife - birds, kangaroos, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice, foxes and dingoes - by the million in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billion and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative - and fatal - health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year, sends out cards praying for Peace on Earth."
