Guest guest
Hi all, Andrea, welcome! It's a great decision for many reasons to eliminate dairy from your diet. My personal one is ethics, but the health aspect was also reinforced after reading The China Study and the emphasis on the relationship between casein, protein in cow's milk, and cancer. I can't personally offer any input on raw foods recipes, but I wanted to point out the Veganauts dinner series. This is a dinner series which rotates through various vegetarian restaurants in the Bay Area. It will showcase the variety of vegan foods available, and offer a wider diversity in food selection than would be possible with one host. Tracy is hosting the next dinner at Café Soulstice, which features primarily raw foods, and I think that would be a great event for those interested in raw foods to attend. I think Tracy would also have good info to share on eating raw, too. On the BAVeg resources page, we also have links to other groups and you may find some of them useful to you, too. http://bayareaveg.org/resources.htm What: Veganauts: Mission to Cafe Soulstice Where: San Mateo When: 3/29/08 Saturday, 5:00 pm Host: Tracy RSVP: http://www.bayareaveg.org/rsvp.htm?id=1769 Full Details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=1769#1769 Cheers, Tammy __ " This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one. " -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
