Guest guest
Dear Advocates for Animals: Although Vigil for Animals is not functioning as a group at this point in time, I am still committed to the monthly vigils at UCSF. And I am happy to say that there is still interest from others in continuing to vigil on behalf of the animals - i.e., monkeys, pigs, dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, rats, fish, and more - held and (ab)used in lab experiments at various UCSF facilities in San Francisco. By the way, I can confirm that UCSF's new Mission Bay campus has been (ab)using monkeys, as well as many other smaller creatures (such as mice, rats, etc.), in lab experiments there. So, bearing the above in mind, I invite you to join me and others at the next vigil on behalf of animals exploited in cruel and often scientifically invalid experiments sanctioned by the university. Details follow: Vigil for Animals, Thursday, February 28, 4:30 PM at UCSF's Parnassus Campus 513 Parnassus Ave, San Francisco (Please see information below on public transportation to UCSF's Parnassus Campus.) Public Transportation to UCSF's Parnassus Campus: If you would like to take public transportation to UCSF, the San Francisco Muni buses #6 and #43 both go right by the vigil's venue on Parnassus Avenue; also you can take the N-Judah streetcar, get off at Carl & Arguello streets, and take the elevator (going up) within the UCSF facility to get to Parnassus Avenue. If you are coming from the East Bay, you can take BART, get off at any stop between Embarcadero and Civic Center in San Francisco, and then take an N-Judah streetcar going outbound (and follow directions above regarding N-Judah streetcar). Hope to see you at the vigil - and take care! Bob O'Brien Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
