As many of you are well aware, we’re fast approaching the signature submission deadline to qualify our initiative to ban cruel veal crates, gestation crates and battery cages for California’s September 2008 ballot. This means that all signatures must reach the Humane California campaign office by Friday, Feb. 22. Please mail your signatures to us a few days prior to the Feb. 22 deadline to ensure their timely arrival!

We’ve made tremendous strides over the last several months, with more than 500,000 signatures collected at last tally. But we still need 90,000 more to reach our goal. Let’s give this effort one last push as we near the finish line, as these final days can make or break the campaign!

If there’s anyone—a friend, family member or neighbor—you have yet to approach for their signature, please do so today! With such a close tally, these last few signatures could make all the difference for the approximately 20 million farm animals living in misery right now inside California’s factory farms, as well as those in other parts of the country who could be affected by precedents set in the Golden State.

Signatures can also be collected during the weekend of Feb. 23 and 24, but they must be hand-delivered to your nearest Humane California office on Monday, Feb. 25. Any signatures turned in after this date will be considered invalid.
