anyone know any restaurants that are both vegan and celiac friendly?

I will be up from Southern California visiting friends in a couple of

weeks. This will be my first visit since going gluten free about a

year ago when we found that our youngest son has celiac disease. I've

been vegan for eight years and always anticipated my annual bay area

trips in large part because of all the great vegan food available.

Avoiding gluten in restaurants can be even more challenging than

avoiding animal products in my experience. I have pretty heavily

curtailed eating out down here, limiting it mainly to raw places and a

couple of mexican places where I know the owners and staff well. I

really want to eat some wonderful food while I'm up there. Any

suggestions? Kid friendly would be especially nice. Has anyone tried

Maggie Mudd?

Beth, Maggie Mudd has delicious vegan ice creams & sundaes & cones,

but it's got no atmosphere in my opinion. It's great for dessert

though. I hope you find many places to eat. Have a great trip. Lisa

Sorry Beth, Know cones would NOT BE gluten free. They also have vegan

shakes. Also, Millennium is very expensive and not super kid friendly

(but I have gone there with kids who enjoyed some menu items) and they

at least used to have on the menu to specify if any food allergies or

sensitivities. I think I'd trust them to know what on the menu was

gluten free, although I would call first/you have to make reservations

anyway. Not the usual suggestion for kids, I realize. Hope you eat at

some good places. Lisa
