Guest guest
A new vegetarian restaurant opened recently in Petaluma. Called Wild Greens, it's at 255 McDowell St. in the Petaluma Plaza shopping center. " We're 100 percent vegetarian, " says manager Moni Calhoun, whose mom, Amy, owns the intimate, 39-seat restaurant and is chef. " We have menu items that will change monthly. " Not all the dishes are organic yet, but the Calhoun family (they're Petaluma residents) is planning to work with more organic growers and produce. " We're looking toward adding a larger selection of raw foods as well, " Calhoun says. " My mom has been a vegetarian for 35 years. She decided to open a restaurant because there's no where to go for a nice night out with a vegetarian meal, " Calhoun explains. Dishes, including ratatouille, potato enchilada and veggie burger made in-house from scratch, vary from vegan to vegetarian, but all dishes can be made vegan if requested. Wild Greens is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner 4:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; and dinner only from 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturday.
