Dear Bay Area Vegetarians and Humane Society:

Today, I left a message on Fox's comment line protesting the promotion for the new show "Unhitched" which features a rat being microwaved; I asked for a return phone call. A representative from Fox called back and told me that the rat being microwaved was not a "real rat," and that the promotion was sanctioned, supervised and endorsed by the Humane Society! I told him that I absolutely did not believe that the Humane Society would promote a show that would feature a microwaved animal, whether or not the animal was real. I also asked him if he thought psychologically disturbed people who would watch the show and possibly imitate the cruelty would make the distinction. He said, "I'm just reading you the reply I was told to read to you." Awful! Please flood FOX with protests.

Fox has a new show, “Unhitchedâ€, (tentatively) airing in March. One of the promos for this program shows a rat being micro waved to death by two boys. Animal cruelty is not entertainment. Please consider taking a moment of your time to politely but firmly ask Fox to stop airing this promo and not to air this episode. Also, please consider asking friends and family to do the same.Email:askfoxFox Viewer Comment Line:310-369-3066You will get an answering machine. Please leave a polite message.

Very interesting. I also got a call from Fox only they told me it was a dead rat, not a stuffed animal. I was also told that the Humane Society supervised everything, etc., etc. He said they were not sure they were going to keep running the promo or not and that they were taking into account the feedback they were getting about it.
