Guest guest
Take me! Vancouver is wonderful. I think it’s right up there with the Bay Area for veg-friendliness and it’s such a gorgeous city. I always stay at the Best Western Uptown, 205 Kingsway: http://www.bestwesternvancouver.ca/ I get a great deal there, however, my work arranges it and they might get a discount for frequent stays. So I can’t guarantee it’s a good deal for everyone. If it works for you, it’s an amazing location…walking distance to the Foundation Lounge (awesome veg restaurant). Fun, busy, safe neighborhood with a veg natural foods store, several cafes (all with vegan options prominently marked), and great public transport to the rest of the city. It’s very easy to get around Vancouver. Happycow.net does seem to have the best list of veg places. My favorites are Foundation Lounge, Bo Kong, The Naam, and Green Cuisine over in Victoria like Lisa suggested. Check the lists, though, because there are many more choices. Seems like every single café has free soymilk, for the coffee and at least one vegan option. You will not be hungry in Vancouver! Alex p.s. Almost forgot Planet Veg…fast food style, but don’t let the atmosphere fool you. Healthy and delicious Indian food. I ate there three times in one day on my last trip.
