(Animals above are lucky critters who live at the Animal Place Sanctuary in Vacaville)

Make 2008 The Year of ALL Animals! If your goals for 2008 include... -making the world a kinder place-meeting new people-getting out more-making time for fun and yummy vegan foodThen please join BAVeg for our Have a Heart, Go Veg Leafleting and Dinner on Sat February 9th at 1 pm.BAV will bring all the literature. You're also welcome to bring your own, just let us know so we can plan accordingly. NO previous experience necessary! In fact, if you've never leafleted before or want a refresher, please let me know so we can meet 5 minutes early and Alex & I will share the arcana to distributing lots of leaflets. From 1:00 to 3:00 we'll leaflet, offering people free vegetarian information and recipes. If you're new at leafleting, this is a great way to get your feet wet and watch others do it first. It's a great feeling when a pedestrian says, “Yes, I'll take one, thank you!” and you know you've just helped animals. After leafleting, we'll enjoy good food & fellowship over vegan vittles at one of SF's vegetarian restaurants (potentially Golden Era or Ananda Fuara, or maybe even BART to Herbivore or Cha Ya in the Mission). You can then feel great that you took a little time to help change the world. If you can't attend the dinner, then just join us for the leafleting. If you can't make the leafleting, we'll be doing this another time, so maybe you can join us then.At our first leafleting for 2008, we distributed 650 booklets, creating potentially 10-20 new vegetarians! This time we will be leafleting at 4th & Mission, by the Metreon.

A dead cow or sheep lying in the pasture is recognized as carrion. The same sort of carcass dressed and hung up in a butchers stall passes as food. - J. H. Kellogg
