I thought a vegetarian leader helping animals and helping folks become

vegetarian (for health, environmental, animal rights reasons) may want to apply

for either or both of these opportunities below.

This would bring awareness to the plight of the animals.

Audition for Oprah's Big Give

 

Are you America's greatest unknown philanthropist? Are you the type of person

who makes things happen and will do whatever it takes? Do you have a big

personality and lots of charisma? Are you ready to pay it forward? Contestants

will travel through the U.S. completing tasks based around the communities'

needs and changing the lives within them. Audition sites include Los Angeles on

Feb. 22. If you can't attend a call in person, you can still apply by sending

in a video by Feb. 23. More info

Nominate a Californian for a James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award

 

Do you know someone who is addressing an important issue for California's future

through an innovative, successful, and inclusive approach? Award recipients will

receive $125,000 in organizational support for their work to benefit the people

of California. Leaders may be working within any sector - nonprofit, public or

private - and within any field, such as education, health, housing, economic

development or the environment. Nominations are due by January 18, 2007 and can

be submitted online at www.irvine.org/leadership.
