Letters to newspaper editors, legislators and businesses can effect change. Please join your fellow veg*n advocates at the San Francisco Veg Letter Writing Party, Coffee and Advocacy, for a steamy soy latte and some tasty vegan pastries. There will be a variety of issues each month. You can choose the issues that are most important to you. New ideas are always welcome! We will be meeting on the third Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at Ritual Coffee Roasters in the Mission District. Please bring the names of your State & Federal legislators. If you don't know who they are, you can find them at http://votesmart.org. Pens, paper and envelopes will be provided, but feel free to personalize it and bring your own. Please RSVP by the day before the event so we can ensure there are enough letter writing supplies. If you can't make this event, check the calendar for upcoming Coffee and Advocacy Events. Hope to see you there! Dana ______________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals? There is a shake on the menu at MaggieMudd's that has espresso that I've often asked them to make vegan (which they can do by substituting a few different things). Anyways, I noticed myself that when I had the shake *with* espresso I wrote more letters than when I had a different shake without caffeine. Since I don't drink coffee (unless it's in a shake or ice cream), I will have to see how productive I am on herbal tea & vegan pastries!Join us, our letters do make a difference.Cheers,Tammy Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace. - Albert Schweitzer Upcoming BAVeg Events: 01/20 Coffee & Advocacy - SF 01/29 College leafletting - Academy of Art University, SF 02/01 BAVeg @ Speak Up for Animals! - SF 02/29 Veganauts: Leap Year Mission - SF 03/02 Food For Thought: Making Burros Fly: Cleveland Amory, Animal Rescue Pioneer - Mountain View Sign-up for our monthly newsletter to stay informed and active!
