Guest guest
HI everyone, Once a year I fly to Gainesville, Florida and volunteer at a Primate Sanctuary called Jungle Friends. As of today, they just accepted the 100th monkey. Jungle Friends monkeys are former " pets " who were unwanted after they matured and got " wild " or they are retired laboratory victims. Many of the monkeys there were used for iron and cocainestudies. The monkeys at JF have gigantic habitats, are fed enormous amountsof fresh fruits, veggies, and monkey chow and are well cared for my staffand veterinary students from the University of Florida. When you volunteer at JF, all housing, meals, laundry, etc...is free. Jungle Friends has always been a vegetarian sanctuary on meat-free land. However, due to my influence and the influence of other volunteers and supporters, JF now has now evolved to all VEGAN common meals for all staff and volunteers. They are promoting veganism now as the diet for all sanctuaries and are working on publishing a vegan cookbook with recipes from all over the world. Please consider sending your favorite vegan recipes to JF. You can do this easily by going to the website and the link requesting recipes is obvious. www.junglefriends.org Everyone is welcome to volunteer at JF. Flights from SF cost about 550.00 to Gainesville but it's an amazing experience to care for the amazing 100 monkeys! Hard work, though! Skilled labor and computer geeks especially needed. Thanks, Amy
