Thanks for writing to Malloy re: Vick/politics

Dear Adrienne, Moya and Mari,

Thanks for responding and that would be great Adrienne if you

have time to drop Malloy an email Friday : ) Moya, you are so right.

If you listen to the email Malloy reads (and from his tone, agrees

with) it actually does drag out that tired line about there being

human beings who are hungry, etc. and why is anyone bothering with

some vicious dogs who were tortured and killed.

As I pointed out to Malloy in my email to him (no response), if

the dogs were vicious, it's because they were purposefully made that

way through cruel treatment, among other methods.

Also, Moya, I agree, we expect " lefties " to be more sympathetic

to animal suffering but it's not neccessarily the case, even if they

have all the sympathy in the world for suffering people. And,

occasionally, " righties " , like Matthew Scully, the former Bush staff

writer who wrote Dominion (great book) " get it " about treating our

fellow beings with kindness (though AR does seem to correlate more

with left of center politics).

I do want to remind folks that this same station, 960 AM, does

carry the first national vegan radio show, Sundays 9-10 pm.
