Wonderful alternative to the Heifer Project

I've been meaning to post this. Thanks for the reminder, Adrienne! The Heifer Project makes me so mad. Beside

the obvious and horrible animal cruelty, it simply doesn't work. If a

family can't feed themselves, how are they going to care for a large

animal who needs lots of food, fresh water, and medical care? Why in

the world have a starving family give edible food to a cow when they

need it themselves?

 

Earth to Heifer people? Hello?

Give a hungry person a fruit tree and they'll have years and years of

food, possible income, and minimal care requirements. Great for the

environment, too. It's a great group doing great work.
