Guest guest
Make 2008 The Year of ALL Animals! If your resolutions include...*making the world a kinder place*meeting new people*getting out more*making time for fun and yummy vegan food Then please join BAV for a New Year's Resolution Leafleting and Dinner on Saturday, December 29th at 1:00 p.m. We'll meet at Powell and Market, by the ticket booth for the cable cars. BAV will bring all the literature. From 1:00 to 3:00 we'll slowly make our way toward the ultimate goal: a great vegan dinner. We'll leaflet as we walk, offering people free vegetarian information and recipes. If you're new at leafleting, this is a great way to get your feet wet and watch others do it first. It's a great feeling when a pedestrian says, “Yes, I'll take one, thank you!” and you know you've just helped animals. More people adopting a veg*n diet means less animals being bred, raised, hurt and killed for food. More veg*n shopping means more companies will switch over and start developing veg products instead of new flavors of milk drinks. It's a direct connection. However, the number of veg*ns in the world won't increase if word doesn't get out! That's where you come in. By handing out Veg Starter Kits to people on the street, you will be responsible for less meat sold and eaten in this country. When PETA surveyed people who had been given a Veg Starter Kit--more than 90% of Veg Starter Kit recipients either reduced or eliminated their consumption of meat and dairy products! People do care, and they will change their eating habits, but only if they get that first nudge. After leafleting, we'll enjoy good food & fellowship over vegan vittles at Golden Era. If you can't attend the dinner, then just join us for the leafleting. If you can't make the leafleting, we'll be doing this another time, so maybe you can join us then. We did this last year and had a fabulous time, and distributed 550 leaflets too. If you're too shy to leaflet but want to help, we really could use someone to manage the cart with leaflets, too. http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery2/v/nye2006 This is the last BAVeg activity planned for 2007 and it's an awesome way to end 2007 and start 2008, feeling great that you took a little time to help change the world.
