Believe it or not, 95% of the participants are meat eaters. The organizer-Moses and myself are pretty much the ONLY vegetarians at the cooking event. http://www.frugalfoodies.org feel free to join us, $7 includes the organic meal (all info is on the web site) Frugal Foodies are currently request donations for a few good cook books. After all, it's a monthof many holidays and quite a few of them fall onTuesdays. In the past, we've had some memorableFrugal Foodies on Halloween, the 4th of July, andeven my birthday, so why not see if we can't pullsomething off on Jesus's birthday. So with thissaid, please take a look at what we have in storeand know that all of the following nights willmove forward as long as we have a minimum of tenpeople signed up. Hope to cook with you all soon. And since it's a month of gift-giving (andreceiving), I also want to add that FrugalFoodies is open to receiving the following gifts:inspiring cookbooks, especially vegetarian ones, decent chopping knives, rubber spatulas, ideasfor future Special Guest Ingredients, suggestionsfor future Guest Chefs, and volunteer hours ifanyone would like to spend time helping to getour recipes prepared to be published on line (youneed not know anything about the web for this).Tuesday, December 4th-it's the first Tuesday ofthe month which means Cuisines of the Worldnight. This month will be brought to you by theletter L and will feature cuisines from countriessuch as Libya, Latvia, Laos, and Lesotho. Andwhile this night is sure to be Lovely, Lively, and Luscious, it's already sold-out so we're onlytaking folks for the waiting list (please seepolicy on the website). A group from the OaklandSchool for the Arts has bought up all the spotsand I'm looking forward to a delightful night ofyoung adult chaos.Tuesday, December 11th-it's Cooking the Booksnight at Frugal Foodies, and since I'm runningout of books, I'm turning to an old standard forthis last month of the year. So this month we'llbe cooking all the dishes from the CabbagetownCafé Cookbook, by Julie Jordan. This wasactually one of the very first vegetariancookbooks that I owned and it's filled with lotsof hearty and relatively easy recipes. It'sperfect comfort food and with how cold it is inmy studio right now, such a menu seems quite inorder. According to a review, "This book is atreasured collection of over 175 of the cafe's'greatest hits,' including appetizers, breads, salads, soups, pasta, pizza, quiches, Mexicanentrees, Indian dinners, Sunday brunch, anddessert. 'A down-home vegetarian guide with lotsof good nutrition, straight-forward, inexpensiverecipes and a good deal of the author'sunassuming charm.'"Tuesday, December 18th-since we're doing aspecial holiday night on the 25th and sinceNovember's Special Guest Ingredient night wasunderd, we're going to move the 4thTuesday to the 3rd for this month only and feature a night of all things Vodka. That'sright, vodka in every dish. And looking at thepossible recipes, they look very very yummy so beprepared for a culinary adventure, and a drunkone at that. And as one of the last Tuesdays ofthe year, this night will be done as a benefitfor DiversityWorks. So please pay the $7 as younormally would for any other night at FrugalFoodies, and then bring your wallet or checkbookand make as generous a contribution as you areable to this local nonprofit. Learn more aboutit at www.diversityworks.org.Tuesday, December 25th-it's Christmas night, falling somewhere between Hanukkah and Kwanzaa,so a special night of holiday cooking seems inorder. Feel free to send me suggestions for yourfavorite holiday dishes and perhaps we'll cookthem up together. So hear ye, hear ye, all youholiday waifs and/or cooking/eating junkies, whynot make your way over to Frugal Foodies so as tonot be alone for the holidays. Please note/remember that you must sign up forall Frugal Foodies nights in advance, and may doso by sending an email to info.--Please consider having Fotomio's Digital PhotoKiosk at your next party or event!*********************J Moses Ceaser/Fotomio800 Heinz Avenue, Suite 14Berkeley, CA 94710510-540-7008510-540-6976faxmoseshttp://www.fotomio.comhttp://www.frugalfoodies.orghttp://www.enlightstoryworks.com -- Please consider having Fotomio's Digital Photo Kiosk at your next party or event! *********************J Moses Ceaser/Fotomio800 Heinz Avenue, Suite 14Berkeley, CA 94710510-540-7008510-540-6976faxmoseshttp://www.fotomio.com http://www.frugalfoodies.org http://www.enlightstoryworks.com
