Guest guest
Hi everyone, We are fortunate that the Institute for Humane Education, based in Maine, is putting on one of its weekend-long Sowing Seeds Workshops in Berkeley next weekend. I encourage everyone on this list, regardless of your level of experience with or even interest in activism, regardless of your job, to take this workshop. (See below.) The workshop is geared toward teachers or potential teachers who are interested in bringing humane education into classrooms. I did the Sowing Seeds workshop 5 years ago or so, and I feel like it made a huge difference for me not just in leading me to teach humane education (through The Empathy Project wwww.empathyproject.org) but also in my approach to activism overall, as well as my approach to other people who don't share my views. Anyway, I could go on and on, but I'll just say I strongly recommend it. See into below! Participants at Sowing Seeds workshop learn how to: * Present accurate information and teach critical thinking about relevant issues of our time * Teach about consumerism and media, environmental preservation, social justice, animal protection and the connection between these issues * Improve their communication skills * Develop a series of presentations and activities for schools, camps, or community groups Interested in taking action online to help animals?
