I like that...it's much more veg* friendly than the

the saying you can " kill two birds with one stone " ??

That would be " slice two carrots with one knife " .

 

Joanne Stepaniak has restated many of these old sayings in her

cookbook, " Vegan Vittles " .

this is one of my favorites i came up with:

 

....save two birds with one nest.

 

i find it highly appropriate, and of course, veganized.

 

plus, the main advantage is that it also refers directly to the "kill" expression, thereby bringing the fact that i have changed it to the attention of all who hear me say it.

 

conversations have ensued based on my variation of this expression...a great way to start talking about veganism and animal rights in general.

 

use it freely and frequently!

 

it's a good one.
