As part of the Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN), they are currently trying to save over 400 oiled birds -- with many more coming in. They are short of convergent volunteers after Veterans Day (this Tues-Fri), especially in the evenings between 4pm and 10pm, and seek your help. I am seeking help in organizing groups from Berkeley to carpool up to Cordelia (~40min away, where 80 and 680 intersect) to help out. You will be trained by IBRRC in a group of 20-30 people, which takes about 30 minutes. You will then fill out some paperwork (a volunteer service agreement) that employs in you an unpaid position for theCalifornia Department of Fish & Game, and covers any worker's compensation related issues. Then, you start helping. Jobs include: holding oiled birds, food prep, stabilization, laundry, and more. Please forward this email to interested parties, and email me: Your NameAvailable days & timesIf you can drive, and the number of passengers you can hold.Thank you,TayMore info: http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/owcn/volunteers.htmlThe center is located at: 4369 Cordelia Road, Cordelia, CA 94585-- Tay Feder, UndergraduateAgricultural & Resource Economics, UC Berkeley415-272-5659 cellhttp://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~tfeder/
