Cheryl} Abandoned Dog Needs Loving Forever-Home A very sweet dog was abandoned and living off of food scraps he found at the local elementary school for at least 10 days, probably more. We are calling him Valentino because his nose is heart-shaped. He is a very attractive white and tan doggie. [:x] To see Valentino in action, http://www.flickr.com/photos/19298576@N02 Interesting Valentino Facts: * When he tries to talk he sounds like Scooby Do. * He loves to ride in the car. He wants to play, but doesn't know what to do with a ball yet. * He gets very excited when he sees people he knows and trusts. If he jumps up, he gets down immediately with just a gentle " get down " . * He responds very well to gently spoken commands. * Valentino is young, probably 9-12 months old. He appears to be fully house-trained. * He is either a variety of pit bull, or a mix (his muzzle reminds me of a boxer). When I found him, his spine and ribs showed through his skin, and he was very frightened. Nonetheless, he let me feed him and he looked so relieved when I put a leash on him. He wagged his tail, licked my face, and cried if I left him alone. He'll climb into your lap if you let him. He is being temporarily fostered, and needs a home soon. He is very lonely and desperate for a person of his own to bond to. We were told at the shelter that if we leave him there he will almost certainly be put down. (Pits have a bad rap and an even worse chance of surviving in shelters.) He has been through a lot, so please be calm and patient with him at first. Here is a good site for pit info.: http://www.badrap.org/rescue/ If you want more information on Valentino email me from the Meetup site or call me: 831-600-5244. If you have been wanting to add a dog to your family, please consider Valentino. With just a little training, love and respect, he could be the best friend you've ever had.
