We went to a sneak peak this week and thought the movie was a pretty

good look at food production in this country. It will be playing at

the Red Vlc in SF and Shattuck in Berkeley this week. At the

post-movie discussion afterwards, the filmmakers were mentioning that

the Farm Bill is up for vote in the Senate next week & both Boxer and

Feinstein seem on the fence with their vote. He encouraged everyone

to contact them to vote for the FRESH act--which would reduce farm

subsidies to farmers of only a few, mostly unhealthy crops, & pay for

improvements in the food stamp program.

I have organized a dinner and movie night for tonight. We'll meet for dinner at Herbivore on Divisidero at 5pm. Then, we'll walk up to the Red Vic for the 7:15 showing. Feel free to join me.
