I'm in SF so we didn't experience any damage, just some movement. But it got me to think - what do I do in this situation as we have 3 cats? If anyone can give advice on how I can better prepare for this next time, I would truly appreciate it. My cats were running for cover under the bed, etc. I don't know too much about what is the safest action to take with our cats? My husband indicated we should stand under the doorways as it is the most stable place to stand. Should I have a carrier close by my bed to place cats in there so they don't hurt themselves by being hit by painting, or tables falling on them? Or is the carrier a death trap? All in all, I want to see if anyone has experience an earthquake and how they handle the safety of their pets during the quake to prevent falling objects killing them.
