Guest guest
I wanted to clear up any misunderstanding that might be happening individually and then being sent to the group that I might be trying to find this puppy a home without first going through channels to try and find his home of origin. I have been doing rescue in one form or another for 20 years, rescuing some 20+ dogs, and numerous cats. Naturally, I would search for the original guardians of the dog before EVER trying to find him a new home. Ads have been placed, signs have been posted, calls have been made, chips have been checked for, and of course the puppy has no tags. At some point the focus has to start to change on what happens when a guardian doesn't show up. Especially when no lost signs are within a 5 mile radius of the neighborhood where this puppy was found, no lost dogs fitting the puppy's description are listed on Craigslist or Petfinder or in the local paper. Ikeep looking as long as I am able and am able to keep the dog which I thought I explained. However, ultimately My concern has to be with the animal and their safety. That's why I do all that I do to reunite them with their mom and/or dad but then if that's not possible and time is running out because I can't keep them, THEN I do what I'm doing now which is start to find them a new home. I don't expect that a new guardian will magically appear in a day's time and so I feel that I need to start putting the word out because otherwise this puppy is in serious trouble. So again I am asking for help from any one out there that might want a sweet, shy, 8 month old mixed breed puppy, or who might know someone who does. Thanks for letting me clear up my intentions.
