Hi all,

Bay Area Vegetarians' Food for Thought Book Club meets bi-monthly to read and discuss (over vegan food) non-fiction books on the topics of animal rights, nutrition/veg*nism and related topics. You can come to one discussion or all, it's really up to you. Our locations vary. Last month we met in Cupertino at Udupi, next month we are meeting in SF at Herbivore. We select upcoming books as a group.

"In his new book, PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews talks about his colorful crusades on behalf of animals that have landed him behind bars, nearly naked on the campus of Harvard, and even “committed” (the chapter and experience for which the book is named) to an asylum in France. From his poor childhood as a victim of bullies to his notorious friendship with Pamela Anderson, Dan’s stories, in the end, reveal his devotion to a cause that’s as dear to his heart as it is to yours".
