Guest guest
Hello everyone! I am thrilled to report that the petitions for the ballot iniatiative to outlaw battery cages, gestation crates, and veal crates in California will be arriving in our SF office tomorrow! We will be having a work party in the office from 5:30-9pm both Wednesday and Thursday evenings to get the petitions and other materials into envelopes and to send them out to people so they have them in time to do signature gathering by this weekend! If you would like petitions but did not come to our kickoff events, and if you have not previously contacted me or entered your information on our website, please go to www.humanecalifornia.org <http://www.humanecalifornia.org> to sign up to receive petitions! HOW YOU CAN HELP: * Come help us in the office! We need help making packets and getting petitions mailed out to volunteers! You'll also get to meet other great people working on the campaign and get some free food! Email me at nora if you'd like to join us Wednesday or Thursday nights for our work parties! Please also let me know if you're available to help during the day! (We are located near Union Square, near Powell St. BART.) * Do you or someone you know commute between San Francisco and any of our surrounding counties? If so, we would love for people to stop by our SF office Wednesday or Thursday to pick up materials and bring them to our county coordinators in order to save time and money on shipping. Email me if you or someone you know might be able to do this! * Gather signatures this weekend! We have county coordinators in San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin counties that would love to hear from you and give you all the information you need to get you off the ground gathering signatures! Again, email me if you're interested! * Contact friends and family and other people who might be interested in volunteering for this campaign and direct them to www.humanecalifornia.org for more information. (We are especially looking for contacts at SF State, City College, in Contra Costa, in Oakland, in Santa Cruz, and other community colleges in the Bay Area.) Every signature counts, so even just getting the people closest to you to sign makes a difference! Be the first person on your block to get these hot-off-the-presses petitions! More information soon....
