Santa Clara County Initiative Small Group Meeting

**Please feel free to forward.** Hello my Santa Clara County comrades! We are looking for more people to *represent* Santa Clara County during the next 5 months by collecting signatures for the initiative. As someone who has seen the frustration in the eyes of calves raised for veal who can't even turn around, the pain in the eyes of the mother pigs who struggle to stand and the hens caked

with manure who struggle to even spread a wing in the battery cage-- all in California, the initiative seems like a reality that can't come quickly enough! I am the Santa Clara coordinator and am really looking forward to creating a really great team! Even though we will not have the petitions in hand by Thursday, i would like for us all to meet to brainstorm on upcoming events, locations where we can collect and delegate locations, times, etc. (to the extent that we can). When: Thursday, October 11 6:30pm Where: International Veggie House, San Jose (520 E. Santa Clara) Please bring calendars, location ideas and your enthusiasm! I am not sure if this would be a good place to get signatures - but October 14th

San Jose is

hosting a half marathon. I will be running it. But they anticipate over 12,000

people there

that day. Just a thought for those of you gathering signatures. Let me know if

you need any
