Guest guest
New to the Bay Area? New to vegetarianism? Looking to try a variety of foods? Looking to connect with like-minded people? THEN please join Pam & Roy and Bay Area Vegetarians for our 5th annual Grass and Lake Vegan Food Party**!! Now that fall is soon approaching (Autumn Equinox is Sunday!), this may be our final opportunity for an outdoor VFP for 2007. A "Vegan Food Party" is an event for those who enjoy vegan food to gather together and bring their favorite vegan dishes to share. Wanna try a new dish? You're very welcome to "animal experiment" and test it on hungry human volunteers. This event is open to everyone, both veg and non-veg. All food is vegan, which is the lowest common denominator and can be enjoyed by everyone. You can find more details on the link below. What: Grass-and-Lake Vegan Food PartyWhere: Lake Temescal (Oakland)When: 10/14/07 Sunday, 12:00 pmHost: Pam & RoyRSVP: http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl//vfp_oct2007 Full Details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=1631#1631 As far as the name .. well, Chris & I have been hosting a "sand and surf" Vegan Food Party at Montara State Beach, so we thought it would be fun to have a corresponding inland water event, hence the Grass & Lake VFP that Pam & Roy have organized in 2006, 2005, 2004, and 2003. We had over 50 people at this year's Sand-and-Surf VFP party and everyone had a great time! Check out the photos from the most recent Sand-n-Surf 4th of July VFP and last year's Grass-and-Lake. http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery2/v/070407/ http://www.bayareaveg.org/gallery2/v/laketemescal06/ FYI, the park is open to dogs if they're on a leash. And you can swim in the lake, too. Cheers,Tammy A dead cow or sheep lying in the pasture is recognized as carrion. The same sort of carcass dressed and hung up in a butchers stall passes as food. - J. H.
