Guest guest
I completely agree with writing to the USPS to complain about the proposed KFC stamps. Ajay, I don't see this as an attack on USPS employees at all. I'm sure all the USPS employees you know are great, as are the ones I have met. And I'm happy that you have received money from them. However, that does not excuse the fact that they are considering promoting a for-profit business instead of the usual non-profit specialty stamp (a cause, a historical figure, a plant or animal, etc). I think the USPS should be ashamed of themselves! For them to make a special stamp for ANY for-profit business would be sad, and at that point, they may as well rename themselves the KFC Postal Service or what have you. Like all our ballparks now. They want to make more money and they may as well go for it 100%. I find it unlikely that they think they sell " enough " stamps or make " enough " money. I have never heard of a company that feels they make " enough " money so they should stop trying to make more. Our postal service is considered a public service. I'm not sure how true that is anymore, but the ideal is still there, and it's sad to think of it promoting animal pain, heart attacks, massive pollution, and bad business. KFC is one of the only big food companies left who isn't, at the very lest, /talking/ about animal welfare improvements. To me it feels as negative as a stamp for cigarettes. Unless it was a picture of a gorgeous celebrity holding a martini and a cigarette, then it would be OK Kidding!! I'm going to go write my snail mail letter. Very annoying I can't e-mail them. Major companies change their policies because of mass e-mail complaints: http://blog.peta.org/archives/burton/ And our lawmakers accept e-mails. I can't help but suspect that yes, the USPS wants snail mail so they sell more stamps. Alex
