Guest guest
Whoever gets there first (and reviews it for the Ultimate Guide) gets 50 points. And since we're talking about vegan yumminess, you MUST try Phil'z coffee if you haven't yet. Even if you don't drink coffee. It's never too late to get addicted. Phil'z makes the most scrumptious coffee ever, and not only do they have soymilk (w/o charging extra!), they also sell vegan donuts. Local to San Francisco, three locations: http://philzcoffee.com/ Alex details about the new pizza place; http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/08/23/NSEMRKOF1.DTL Two boys from Boston have opened up a super-friendly pizzeria way out on San Francisco's Noriega Street. So far out, in fact, that it's popular with Ocean Beach longboarders, who stop in for a bit of après-surf sustenance. The cheerful hangout serves pizza whole or by the slice, bringing together East Coast-style superthin crusts with California-fresh toppings. About half the pies are vegetarian, and there's a vegan option called Timmy's Pie ($16 medium/$22 large), with vegan pesto, roasted potatoes and red peppers, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and caramelized onions. Among the other meatless versions, we liked the Greek ($16/$22), which is loaded with fresh spinach, halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion and a smattering of black olives.
