Guest guest
On Friday night, Miranda and I video leafleted in the Mission District for about 90 minutes. It was a tougher crowd than the one from last week and we received many rude comments. Rude comments demonstrate people's discomfort with their own participation in the death of animals raised for meat, dairy and eggs. Of course, it is not always easy to receive the rude comments, but this is literally a life and death matter for the non-human animals and nothing will change until we all speak up.As always, there were moments which revealed the best side of human nature, where people connected and responded to the video. Most notably, at the end of the night, a woman watched the video, shocked, while her companion, obviously uncomfortable, stood nearby, though turned away from the video. The woman kept asking us what was happening in the video and the purpose of the various practices shown. At one point, she told her friend, "I'm sorry to keep you; I think I might have to become a vegetarian right now." We are out here precisely for these moments. We'll see you in the streets.Victor Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell.
