Guest guest
GiveMeShelter, a local cat rescue group (100% volunteer) which has taken many, many cats off the euthanasia list in local shelters, needs two short-term foster homes for two rescued cats: Liddy, a 5-year-old (neutered) male cat (you can see his picture and description on the group's website, www.givemesheltersf.org/available), will have surgery next Monday, August 13, on his left eye; the little guy is missing an eyelid, but the surgery will correct that. Liddy will need a few weeks to recuperate from the surgery, and he'll need to wear an " Elizabethan collar " to keep him from scratching his eye. If Liddy recuperates at his current foster home, he will need to be in a cage, because there are other cats there and we don't want to risk him hurting his eye by playing too hard with other cats, etc. If you can offer Liddy a small room where he can recuperate without being in a cage, that will be so much better for him. (He might be fine with other cats who are mellow and not TOO playful.) You would need to be able to give him eye medication twice a day. All medication, food, etc. will be provided. The second cat needing a foster home is a sweet, six-week-old kitten who has ringworm (which is a fungal infection which is not at all dangerous). Because we don't want the ringworm to spread to other cats, he is in a cage right now, and getting pretty restless. We would love for him to be in a larger space until the ringworm is gone. Can you help? If you have other cats or kittens who have ringworm, he'd be the PERFECT companion!! Or if you have a small room where he could be isolated from other cats, that would be fine too. All medications, food, etc. will be provided. If you need more information, or if you think you might be able to help, please contact Lana at 415-810-7284. THANK YOU!!
