This is a good article about the bees who are forced to

work to produce honey and to pollinate crops. This is good information to have when

someone is interested in why vegans don’t eat honey. It’s a long

and thorough article that addresses the recent bee die-offs that are scaring

big agriculture. Here’s an excerpt:

 

“Meanwhile, commercial

beekeeping has come to resemble other kinds of factory farming. While the bees

themselves retain more freedom of movement than almost any other living

creature raised by man, a commercial bee lot is more like a cattle feed lot

than a wild meadow.”
