Guest guest
Well, after hearing about this place quite a few times, I finally had an opportunity to check it out since I was in the neighborhood earlier this week. Kearny Street Pies is a small restaurant in the financial district of SF, on Kearny, between Bush/Pine. They sell "Peasant Pies", hand-held pies. Most are savory, there were a few dessert pies but they weren't vegan. There's about 10 on the menu, I think it was 4 vegan, 3 vegetarian, 3 non-veg with a monthly special. They offer soups daily (when I visited, 1 vegetarian, 1 vegan) and green salads. It's a small place and the only seating is bar seating along the window and an inside wall. The pies were good - of the three I tried, I liked the Black Bean + Tofu and the Curry Potato/Yam. I thought the Spicy Eggplant Black Olive Tomato was okay. It was about $3.65 for one, and if you buy 2+, it drops to $3.10 ea. The vegan soups are also good. They offer a combo of 2 pies + soup for $8.65. So for anyone in the area, check 'em out! Very easy to find, they're close to the corner of Kearny & Bush.
