Guest guest
Good morning, I am preparing my big move from East to West coast. I found a place in North Berkeley. I am excited! I am searching for an " ethical " bank in Berkeley. By this, I mean a bank that has investments in the " least amount of suffering " (human, environmental, animal). Does anyone have any suggestions. I would love to avoid using WaMu or Bank of America. Best, Breeze
Guest guest
I moved from Chicago to SF. I transferred to ETrade. I know they do almost everything online. They reimburse you for ATM fees from any bank. I do know since they are mostly online - they save on paper waste. I dont know the extent of human and animal. Does anyone else know if there are any red flags for Etrade? thanks! Mari , Amie Breeze Harper <breezeharper wrote: > > Good morning, > > I am preparing my big move from East to West coast. Guest guest
I've heard the Mechanics' Bank is Berkeley is very community oriented. I'm not sure though if that means they are " ethical " though...perhaps others can comment on it? New Resources Bank is San Francisco (not in Berkeley as far as I know) is very environment friendly and also give grants and donate to many community projects. I just switched to them from BofA a couple of months ago. They are big on recycling and conservation...you can call them to get details if you want. They will reimburse you up to 10 transactions/month (or something like that) for any ATM of any bank you use so it's quiet convenient. You may also want to consider a credit union instead of a bank as they tend to be less greedy so presumably less evil. There are many in SF and I assume some in Berkeley as well. --- Amie Breeze Harper <breezeharper wrote: > Good morning, > > I am preparing my big move from East to West coast. > I found a place > in North Berkeley.
