Guest guest
It's #49 on the menu, after some hard talks, I was able to get the owner, Mr. Sang to tell the Chef not to add eggs to the fried tofu. Mr. Sang was not aware the chef added " a little egg " in the tofu. In the beginning, he didn't do anything about it. I had to have him confront the chef right away. It was not easy trying to sort this out. I embarrassed my meat- eating guest that was there for lunch with me. Overall, I told my guest, even though there was some confusion, it was worth getting things straighten out. I recommend going there for lunch. For $5.75 you get vegetable kimchee appetizer, tea, egg roll, soup (the carrot and tofu soup is surprisingly good this time cause usually free soups from restaurants are so bland), entree, brown/red rice and fresh orange. The lunch special is even good during weekends. Overall the entree was too salty but the soup and rice was superb. I already told the chef it was too salty, so I hope the chef will make some changes. Next time you are there, thank them for changing the PIE PA TOFU recipe back to its vegan form. If you want to join me for lunch at Shangrila or Bok Choys' lunch special, please contact me. I was there for lunch from 11:30am- 12:30pm and there were only one other customer in the entire restaurant. == Summer time, business is slow for restaurants. I think Bok Choy or Layonna will eventually go out of business. Golden Era2 is only 9 blocks away, they are doing ok. == Juicy Lucy sells organic juice and salads at the SF Geary Blvd- Kaiser Hospital, Farmer's market every Wed during lunch. The food is way better than the Sugar Bowl donuts and pastries that's offerred at the hospital. (what a joke) I hope Sugar Bowl will go out of business and a vegetarian restaurant will take over the store front. Juicy's food might be expensive but like most veggie food, but it's made with pride and love. == winnie, veggie forever very happy cause a good change was made
