Guest guest
Apparently I went on and on about cute puppies, without ever mentioning cute cats. I can't stand to have kitties mad at me so here is some news about a VERY CUTE (but special needs) kitty needing some help. WARF is a fabulous animal rescue group at Lake Tahoe, and they have an FIP-positive young cat who lost an eye due to his disease. He is currently in a foster home, a great foster home but unfortunately a busy foster home. He really needs a quiet home without any other animals for some serious TLC. If you're interested in helping, let me know and I'll share photos and more details. This kitty will also need a lifetime commitment, like any companion animal, but sadly he may not live as long as other cats. While up in Tahoe visiting WARF, I also met Rita. She is a 2 year old (approx), 40# (approx), border collie mix (approx). Incredibly sweet and gentle, and well-behaved. I'm not saying she's cute, because this post is about cats, but she's not not cute. Folks have been asking about the Michael Vick case. Here's the latest, and what you can do: http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/petition_dog_fighting http://blog.peta.org/archives/2007/07/michael_vick_in_2.php http://blog.peta.org/archives/2007/07/vicks_indictmen.php http://blog.peta.org/archives/2007/07/nfl_vick_will_p.php Thank you! I was on with tech support this morning for a company called Netgear, and of course their support staff is in India. The support person and I got to talking (we were waiting for update programs to complete) and of course got into animals. He told me about Maneka Gandhi, who I’m sure you already know about, but if not you need to. Sounds like she’s doing terrific things (she’s in New Delhi). Also, WARF has an FIP-positive young cat who lost an eye due to his disease and is losing ground because he’s at Sam’s and everyone steals his food. She’s put him in a bathroom because of this, but it’s really not a great life for him. Do you know of anyone with no other animals who could care for him? Obviously, it won’t be for long… Thanks again! Coral
