Bruce Friedrich, VP at PETA, was on the Stephanie Miller show this

morning on AM 960 (KQKE - progressive talk). He spoke about the

environmental impact of leather, as well as the horrific treatment of

the animals shipped overseas to slaughter. Later, they took questions,

and one caller said the answer was to find environmentally safe ways to

treat animal hides to make leather so we could use this " natural "

product. His reply started, " Well, first of all, it's only natural

when it's worn by its original owner. " It was great to hear the veg

point of view first thing in the morning. A good start to the holiday.
